So it begins...again.

As some of you may know, I did not return home to New York after my Freshman year of college. I decided to stay in Provo through this December. I understand that this may be and task that is hard to complete, but I'm up to it. I moved out of the dorms which was a very good step. I loved them, but lets be honest, you can only take so much of them before it's time to say enough. So I now have an apartment which is so much fun. I moved in with 6'8" Nate, and then we got assigned 2 random roommates. We lucked out. JonnyMac and Ryan are amazing. Our apartment is super ghetto, but its only $100 a month. Talk about super deal. We recently discovered little friends namely cockroaches. Fun right? I got a job at the Cannon Center which is fun. I do dishes and make pancakes. That's about it. And just last week, I started summer classes! It's so nice to have structure to my life as opposed to just doing nothing. I'm taking New Testament (the Four Gospels) with Brother Skinner and Writing and Rhetoric with a grad student. They are really good classes and I'm excited to be back in the swing of things. I have yet to take pictures of my apartment, I'll take care of it soon. I've been dating a bunch. It's tons of fun. And right now I'm in Periodicals about to start on an Opinion Editorial. Yee haw!



Spring term brought much fun and lots of board breaking to prepare for the tournament at Wasatch Martial Arts.



A quick trip to California with 6'8" Nate means we get to drive around in his Dad's 650i.

On the note of The Young Hurricanes, the bassist quit and I was the first go-to guy sooooooo I'm the new bassist for The Young Hurricanes! I'll finish off the semester as a member of the band. It'll be good.

Blood Donation.

Yesterday, BYU 151 Ward had the opportunity to give blood to American Red Cross. I enjoy saving 3 lives and over all I have saved 9! WOOT! Yesterday was a great day. It was Aubry's first time successfully donating! After I finished my pint, I stood by Aubry and then she finished and we both walked to the chairs. I sat down and Nate, Jocelyn, and Aubry are talking to me and saying "Caulin, you're really pale. You're getting really pale really quickly! Should we get someone?" Then I remember mumbling "Yeah you should probably get someone." Then my sight goes out. I thought I just closed my eyes but I guess my eyes were open! I start to come to it and see this nurse guy putting ice on my neck and behind my head. He says "Do you know where you are?" I reply..."BYU?" haha. It was great. AND THEN!!!! like a minute afterward, AUBRY FAINTS TOO!!!! So we had a party on the ground. It was great. THEN afterward there was a Ward Activity in the Wilk. FREE BOWLING!!!! It was semi-foolish of me, but I bowled. Kangaroo Caulin and his no thumb 5 step approach bowled a 138. Not my best, but I'm very stoked with it. Bishop bowled too!

Update!

So it's been a while since I've posted. I realize this, and I apologize. I guess since I live across the country I am some what Blobligated. Things have been going great. I'm hanging out with friends every weekend, going on dates all the time with DIFFERENT GIRLS! I got asked to a Harry Potter preference dance. I signed a contract for off campus housing for Spring, Summer, Fall with 6'8" Nate. I was in a band, then decided it was a bit much so I got out of it, but am still playing with them on a few songs. I got tickets for U2 in June!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!! School work isn't that bad, but it's causing me to spend a lot more time in the library (but that's a good thing). I went to a dance party in Mikey's room...it was great! Thirty people in a dorm room. Oh Man! Soo Bahk Do is great. Mr. Corrales is the MAN! I feel like I've progressed a lot! My ward is amazing. Bishop Fry is an incredible person! My calling in the Ward Activities Committee is GREAT!! We just had a talent show and I performed in a skit from SNL with my friend Courtney. We did the Chess Tournament Cheer skit. It was FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I'm going to try to post a video of it. So I'm on Mikey's computer and I'll use his Facebook account to look for pictures of everything and everyone so people know who people are anddddd SO THEY CAN SEE THAT I HAVE HAIR!!! My friend Josh and I (see post about my bleeding on my guitar) are starting an Acoustic Band called TaylorDove. We've written 3 or 4 songs already and more than anything, it's fun and NOT STRESSFUL!

She actually walked through the Library by herself and scared a group of old people. It was by far one of the funniest things I've seen!

:) I love these girls. On the left is Alexa Burke. She is my twin. We discovered we were the exact same person and so we figured we were separated at birth. We had a Parent Trap-esque experience. Thanks Mom and Dad for telling me about my twin!! haha :D. On the right is Alex Jameson. She is by far the coolest person I have EVER met. She is an AMAZING artist, has great taste in movies and music and is a great friend.

Oh BYU.

Last night I got a text message from my friend Hanna telling me about free Ice Skating at Seven Peaks Ice Arena. My first thought was AWESOME!!! I knew that she would be going with her boyfriend, and I know how to drive stick, so I had a feeling I would be driving (which is all good). So I asked my friend Alex if she wanted to go with me, but she couldn't. DANGIT! I was just gonna go solo when Hanna told me no, and forced me to get a date. It was a great idea :). I asked my friend Aubrey to come and she was soo stoked! It ended up that she had a car (a car car, not an old, scary Toyota Tacoma) so she drove and we all went skating and then to IHOP. Overall, it was great. I'm glad I went and took a date :).

Poster Sale.

Round two of the poster sale in the bookstore. Found 4 perfect things. I was looking for a U2 War poster, didn't have it, or a U2 Rattle and Hum poster, again, didn't have it. BUT!!!! I found 2 U2 postcards that were pretty chill, and also a The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore mini posters. I like it.

Anyone seen 500 Days of Summer? You know the Ikea scene? Guess who is going on a date to Ikea on Saturday! hahaha :)

What comes next.

Well classes are over. My last day was Thursday. Ahhhh. It feels so nice to be done. BUT. Right now I'm in the library of all places. It's snowing here. Kind of. It's sleeting. It reminds me of home. Sniff sniff. Ill be back soon though. And thennn I'll be back here! I'm not gonna lie, I love it here, but I do miss black people. So a few updates....Ginger kids are starting to freak me out (thank you Kyality). I really love the snow. My Bishop is the MAN. School is over. I hurt my knuckle at karate last week. Christmas is almost here! I love playing the drums and I miss it. I love playing the guitar. I love jamming with this kid on the first floor even though he's kind of a jerk. The Young Hurricanes played a show last night but didn't do too well. A lot of technical difficulties. I hate most of the kids on the third floor because they literally destroy everything. BYU is the greatest place on earth and I'm so glad I'm here. Finals are next week and I plan on being done on Thursday (Wednesday if all goes well).

Yeah I think that's it! OH! And listening to music through 4 ft speakers built by Mikey Jones in a dorm room is the greatest thing ever.

Today is freezing! I woke up early and had breakfast at the Cannon Center with the Jefferies! And then went back to my dorm to get my backpack so I could go to class. I grabbed my The Edge beanie and hobo mittens (which I love) and made my way to the Clyde building. It snowed hard on Saturday so Timpanogos is totally covered. It really is beautiful here but it's cold. So that's it! Oh. I hope it makes me look like The Edge cause he's the man.

Thank you SkillMasterFlex for that quote of yours. It snowed again today. Only in the mountains. BUT! it did get closer to campus. It's very menacing - the path of the snow slowly makes its way to cover you. Tomorrow it should snow on campus. I'm pretty excited. Mikey, the one I work out with and who is from Arizona, was super bundled up this morning. He had on a winter coat, scarf and super warm hat! All I had on was a hoody and sweats (that's because I woke up late and didn't have time to take a shower. I got back from class and showered though! and then I wore a hat and track jacket). I found out that my psychology class is canceled next Friday, Monday and Tuesday!!!!! Even though it's only one class, I feel like I have a 5 day weekend!

Oh man. I sure am in Utah.

Recently I have started to work out with my friend Mikey. He lives down the hall from me and is from Arizona. Do not confuse him with his room mate Michael who is also from Arizona. And no, they did not know each other prior to coming to BYU. The workout consists of crunches, push-ups, and leg-ups. After the strength portion, we go on a run. Today, on the run, something very strange happened. I ran pass the Provo Temple. I looked to the left and BAM! There it was! A House of God. Soon after, BAM! on the right, the Missionary Training Center! WHAT IS GOING ON?!?! Where have all the black people gone? Where are all the ghetto corner stores with gangs hanging around outside? Where is deli that doesn't I.D. minors so they can get drugs?! Where have all the crime scenes gone?

Cannon Center Line.

Every Fast Sunday at 3 o'clock and every Tuesday after Devotional, there is a line at the Cannon Center that goes all the way out the building. Needless to say, I am not eating yet.

What day is it?

So last night, I started my Book of Mormon essay that was due today. Pretty foolish I know but whatever. So it takes longer than i expected. It ends up i dont go to sleep. Thats right. All Nighter numero uno. giddy up! I finish the essay and get to class and sit next in my sleep. I turn the the person next to me and ask "so did you finish your essay?" she replies "it's not due until thursday." NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! i stayed up all freaking night LITERALLY for something not even due today!!!!!! NOOOO!!!!!! not only that, when the professor walks in, he says "so essay due thursday, but if you can't get it to me then dont worry about it, hand it in NEXT TUESDAY!!!!!!" (he didnt scream, thats just my passion for the situation.) he continues saying "so essentially the essay is due next week." oh man!! so throughout the day I take 2 naps adding up to about 5 hrs, so i feel okay. I register for classes tonight. GOOD LUCK!!!! yaaay.
